L'Integrale Femmes De Paris & Gentlemen De Paris (4CD set) A treasure trove of female French pop from the 60s – packaged in a special case with a bonus male disc too! The 4CD package is a tremendous introduction to the hippest French pop sounds of the 60s – and goes way past the obvious stars of the time to include some cool girl singers.

Sleeve notes are perfunctory and fail to give any information such as recording dates. '7 Heures Du Matin' is printed as '7 Heures Du Mat'. A lack of pics is also disappointing, and the surface noise on '7 AM' is unforgivable. 01 7 HEURES DU MAT () 02/ LE COEUR AU BOUT DES DOIGTS () 03 LA PREMIERE À GAUCHE () 04 LA FAC DE LETTRES /5(21).

It was rare for a French artist of the s to record in English, or release a record in the UK. Jacqueline Taïeb was one of the few to do both with the ultra-collectable ‘7 AM’, a translation of her celebrated ‘7 Heures Du Matin’.

Musique Pop de Paris compiles a wide cross-section of French pop from the '60s, ranging from orchestrated crooners to the cool chanteuse-stylings of yé-yé girls. Highlights from the compilation's 15 tracks include classics from stalwarts like Serge Gainsbourg, Brigitte Bardot, and Alice Dona, as well as Jacqueline Taïeb's mod-tinged 7" "Heures du Matin" and Jacques Dutronc's deadpan proto.
